What Is a Shadow Board?

A shadow board is a visual management tool that gives every tool a designated home. Tool outlines — or "shadows" — are cut or printed onto the board surface so that missing tools are immediately obvious. It's the simplest, most effective way to implement the "Set in Order" and "Shine" pillars of a 5S program.
